Commissioned by the City of Pikeville and written by Kentucky playwrights, these six Chautauqua-style scripts feature eight people whose lives influenced the town’s history: the man who started the first school in Pikeville, the first woman from Kentucky elected to the United States Congress, an African-American poet and her wealthy white patron, two impactful educational administrators, the man whose aeronautical school trained Allied pilots during World War II, and the mayor responsible for the Pikeville Cut-Thru, arguably part of the most incredible downtown revitalization project ever undertaken in the United States.
Attendance is free! Email tours@theapparts.org for information about location and more.
