September 3 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Filmed over the course of three years, filmmaker Benjamin Flaherty follows the stories of three individuals whose lives depend not on getting into treatment, but on getting out alive. Their journeys highlight a crisis few are talking about: the insurance-fueled cycle of treatment fraud, and the human cost for those struggling to survive it.

Winner of the 2025 SXSW Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary and a Critics’ Pick for The New York Times. Critics have praised it as “Almost biblical in its depiction of well intentioned policies being corrupted by human avarice” (IndieWire) and described it as “inherently shattering and enraging” (Variety).

Join us afterwards for a meaningful conversation about the film with its creator and a few key advocates from Eastern KY.
