Ever wondered how a play is made? Better yet, want to be the one who makes it?
Join instructor Mark Hatfield for a dynamic, one-day workshop where we will discard the script and create a completely new performance from scratch.
What is devising? It’s the art of group storytelling. We start with nothing but a room full of people and a few ideas. Through games, collaborative improvisations, shared stories, embodied poetics, and the magic of theatre, we’ll craft an original one-act play by the end of the afternoon.
No Experience Necessary! Whether you’re a seasoned performer or have never stepped foot on a stage, your voice belongs here.
The show must go on! After a day of creation, we’ll open the doors at 7:30 PM for a free public performance of the work you helped create. Come build something that has never been seen before—and may never be witnessed again!
