Sign Language (ASL) class for First Responders

This introductory American Sign Language (ASL) class is designed specifically for first responders, including police, firefighters, EMTs, and healthcare professionals.
Participants will learn essential emergency and medical signs to effectively communicate with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in crisis situations.
The hour-long session covers fundamental ASL vocabulary, key phrases for assessing medical needs, and strategies for clear, respectful communication. No prior ASL experience is required.
This program will be held Friday, April 25th at 4:30 at the Pike County Public Library.
Please note the Sign Language Class at the library is a free community event that does not result in participants earning any kind of diploma, legal certificate, or credential.
