A small town. Summer. Not too long ago. A local science teacher has been arrested for teaching Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution in a public school classroom. The devout denizens of Hillsboro expect his conviction as the two most famous lawyers in the country volunteer to both prosecute and defend the accused. Tensions rise in this legendary courtroom drama as the right to think goes on trial.
