There will be two sessions: 1-4pm and 5-8pm.\n*Space is very limited so please register in advance by calling 606-432-2534\, via Facebook message to the Extension Fine Arts page\, or email emilykbaldridge@uky.edu. \nWhat You Need to Know:\n+To ensure materials and space for participants\, we can only take a limited number of patrons. Registration is required.\n+You will be cutting glass and using a soldering iron to piece it together. You might get a minor cut or burn! It is the nature of the craft. Most injuries are about the equivalent of a paper cut. However\, to ensure you are aware of this\, you must sign a waiver to participate.\n+This activity is not suitable for children. Participants must be at least 14 years old.\n+The workshop will last 3 hours. Depending on your pace and skill\, you may finish your project sooner. You are free to leave earlier!\n+There is no fee to come to the workshop and all materials are provided.\n+Project ideas and templates are available. SUMMARY:A Tromp Through the Swamp Sing-Along
DESCRIPTION:Tom Sieling\, widely acclaimed singer and guitar\, banjo\, and drum machine player\, will perform a free family/children’s program called “A Tromp through the Swamp!” during the Summer Reading Program at Pike County libraries. Tom has delighted tens of thousands in over thirty years of performing. Every show is a top ten lineup of most fun\, most participatory kids’ songs out there-many are even a bit athletic! He accompanies himself on guitar\, banjo\, and harmonica\, and adds a drum machine to keep things upbeat and easy to move to. The most cool\, interesting animal facts and pictures he can find are included\, along with lots of encouragement of the kids’ lifelong participation in reading! Here’s what happend…In the beginning of 2020\, we started a race Holiday series\, which included the Leap Year 5K\, and the Eggstra Fun Bunny Run 5K\, and we were going to continue all through 2020….but we all know what happened next! Lockdown. So\, we cancelled the rest of our Holiday Series. BUT this year we are back and starting off with a 4th of July Celebration 5K on July 1st at 8 am\, at the newly named Peach Orchard Trail at Bob Amos Park. (Formerly known as the Multi-purpose Trail\, or the trail behind the track). \nThe registration fee is $15. The medals are adorable and they will all match in style and size for the whole race series. This is a fun run and there’s no timing and no t-shirts. However\, there will be an award for the overall female and male winner\, who is the first to cross the finish line. So\, join us for the first run and start your Holiday Race medal collection. \nHappy Holidays!
