A truly one-of-a-kind awaits you at The Appalachian Center for the Arts on April 25th\, 2026.\n__________________________________________________________ \nEver wondered how a play is made? Better yet\, want to be the one who makes it? \nJoin instructor Mark Hatfield for a dynamic\, one-day workshop where we will discard the script and create a completely new performance from scratch. \nWhat is devising? It’s the art of group storytelling. We start with nothing but a room full of people and a few ideas. Through games\, collaborative improvisations\, shared stories\, embodied poetics\, and the magic of theatre\, we’ll craft an original one-act play by the end of the afternoon. \nNo Experience Necessary! Whether you’re a seasoned performer or have never stepped foot on a stage\, your voice belongs here. \nThe show must go on! After a day of creation\, we’ll open the doors at 7:30 PM for a free public performance of the work you helped create. Come build something that has never been seen before—and may never be witnessed again!
