DESCRIPTION:March 21st\, 2026 | 10:00 am – 2:00pm\nInstructor: Shannon Daniels\nTicket: $45 (per puppet being made) \nWho’s ready for a super fun\, creative Saturday? Shannon is teaching a puppet making workshop! \nWhat you’ll learn: How to create something from a sewing pattern\, 2 basic hand stitches\, the magic effects that a pair of googly eyes can have on a piece of fabric\, oh yes\, and how to make this adorable puppet! No experience necessary\, just a willingness to learn and have fun! Adults are welcome to accompany their child to help them create their creature\, or sign up for the class and make a puppet of their own! This workshop is great for ages 10-110! All supplies will be provided and at the end\, you get to take home your puppet. \nShannon Daniels is honored to serve as the Executive Director of The Appalachian Center for the Arts. She has also been a props designer for almost 20 years. One of her favorite things to make for the stage is puppets. And now she’d like to share that joy with you!

DESCRIPTION:February 16th – March 27th\, 2026\nMeets: Saturdays | 12:00 – 4:00pm\nInstructor: Mark Hatfield \nDiscover the power of devised theatre — a collaborative\, actor-driven approach to creating original performance. In this six-week Saturday course\, you’ll learn how to build theatre from the ground up using improvisation\, physical exploration\, storytelling\, and ensemble techniques. No prior experience with devising is needed: you’ll gain practical acting skills such as presence\, imagination\, adaptability\, and embodied expression while contributing to the creation of a brand-new piece. The course culminates in a final showing of the work developed together\, giving you hands-on experience in the creative process from first spark to performance.
