SUMMARY:Paint Pouring Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Come and explore the world of paint pouring! Select your colors\, learn techniques and create your pour masterpieces. Registration is required. This program will take place at the Pike County Public Library (Lee Avenue) outdoors in the field behind the library.\nTeens-Adults Session: September 19 at 5:30Register here: https://informationplace.libnet.info/event/11627575\nKids (Ages 5-12) Session: September 21 at 10:00Register here: https://informationplace.libnet.info/event/11627583\nOur instructor\, Brooke Harris\, is a painter who calls Lexington\, Kentucky home. Most of Brooke’s paintings use acrylic paint to create abstract scenes of time and space. While the paintings are non-referential\, they are strangely familiar and evoke memory and emotion. They depict metaphors of something greater than the physical: a spiritual reality expressed in paint. Brooke is a writing professor for Indiana Wesleyan University and is an award-winning poet and artist. Her art can be seen in galleries across the Central Kentucky area. She teaches paint workshops to all ages and is particularly interested in helping people express creativity and reflect on what it is to be human while creating art.\nThe Kentucky Arts Council\, the state arts agency\, supports Pike County Public Library District with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.

DESCRIPTION:tory Time is for children ages 5 and under and features books\, action/movement\, songs\, and a craft. Story Time is held Thursdays at 11:00 and 2:00 and Saturdays at 11:00. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nBesides being fun\, Story Time also helps develop early literacy and school readiness skills through reading\, singing\, listening\, playing\, and social interaction. This program lasts approximately 30 minutes\, and caregivers and children are encouraged to linger in the library afterwards to further socialize and choose books to take home.
