SUMMARY:2024 Hillbilly Days Run for the Kids 5K/10K/Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:HOWDY Friends! This year we’ve added something new and exciting!  Ya’ll can “Run fer the Kids” in a 5K\, 10K\, or the inaugural HALF MARATHON!  This will be the FIRST half marathon for the HBDRun and we are so excited!  So\, pick your distance and join us in beautiful downtown Pikeville at the Pikeville City Park\, while you enjoy Kentucky’s 2nd largest festival\, Hillbilly Days. \nThe first half of the half (the 10K portion) will all be on pavement/sidewalks and in the downtown area of Pikeville.  Those who elect to do the half marathon will get to enjoy some “off-roading” and become a true “Hillbilly”\, because part of this route will take you through one of our beautiful trails.  There will be challenging inclines\, but there is no “hiking” type of terrain.  The entire hill route is a wide path and is either paved\, or gravel. \nEach participant will receive a t-shirt or tank top and a UNIQUE medal.  The medal will be the first in a series of medals to celebrate the inaugural half marathon.  Each subsequent year\, the medals will be a different member of the Hillbilly family\, with the first medal being the Hillbilly Momma.  More details to come on the medals\, so stay tuned.
