DESCRIPTION:Understanding how music works will give you the tools you need to write riffs\, songs\, and solos\, and learn to improvise in a friendly hands-on environment. Registration required. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nClass begins Thursday\, February 6 at 5 pm and will be held weekly at the Pike County Public Library (Lee Ave). It will run for 8 weeks\, meeting every Thursday in February and March. \nNo previous knowledge of music theory or reading music is necessary\, but this class is for adults and teens who already know how to play a little bit.

Students of all levels are encouraged to join\, whether it is simply to try something new and fun or to improve on past improv experience. \nWe will be working on a wide arrange of improv games that will eventually be incorporated into a public class sharing on February 13th\, which family and friends of all participants are highly encouraged to attend!It is very important that students attend each class to get the fullest experience of the course and develop the most effective teamwork with their classmates.

He has a B.A. in English from Berea College and an M.A. in English from Eastern Kentucky University. He is an instructor in the Department of English and Theater at EKU and the author of several books covering such topics as history\, biography\, historical true crime\, natural disasters\, folklore\, and ghostlore.\nKeven’s True Crime books include Murder in Old Kentucky; Cruelly Murdered: The Murder of Mary Magdalene Pitts and other Kentucky True Crime Stories; Strange Tales of Crime and Murder in Southern Indiana; The Axman Came from Hell and Other Southern True Crime Stories; Louisville Murder and Mayhem; and Murder and Mayhem in Indiana.
